"The Jewels" of Scorpius.
On the left is the constellation's main star—the red supergiant Antares. On the right is the closest large, bright globular cluster to Earth, the "Cat's Eye," also known as M4 in the Messier catalog. And above, slightly left of center, the smaller globular cluster NGC6144 "hides" in the frame.
The objects were about 12 degrees above the horizon during the shoot. Taken from a high-rise balcony in a red zone of light pollution.
