This image was captured on July 30, 2018—three days after opposition. The planet's diameter was about 24 arcseconds. At that time, a dust storm was raging on Mars, which reduced the contrast of surface details. The RAW video was 640x480, 14-bit, 30 fps, ISO 6400, with a 1/60s exposure. The processing used a 10-minute clip. The scale is 125% of the original. Taken from a balcony in a multi-story building, in a red zone of light pollution.
