Just below Orion's Belt. The Horsehead Nebula (B33+IC434) and the Flame Nebula (NGC2024).
A single frame with a 600-second exposure. The original data was acquired in 2013 from a remote observatory in Australia.
Hmm... You've surprised me! No, the image is certainly good for such an aperture and a single exposure. But I'm surprised that such modest equipment is being used at a remote observatory in the southern hemisphere—which obviously isn't cheap—to photograph an object that is visible from our latitudes too.
I thought that if you're paying, it should be for a good aperture, or for objects that aren't accessible from here.
Just my opinion, of course.
