IC 2177 is a nebula region along the border of the constellations Monoceros and Canis Major. It is a nearly circular H II region surrounding the Be star, the young blue giant HD 53367.
The nebula NGC 2327 is located within the IC 2177 area. This nebula is also known as the Seagull's Head, due to its position in the Seagull Nebula.
