NGC 7380 (also designated OCL 244, LBN 511) is an open star cluster in the constellation Cepheus. It is surrounded by an emission nebula known as the Wizard Nebula. The nebula earned its name because, from certain perspectives, it resembles a wizard wearing a pointed hat.
At the center of the cluster lies DH Cephei, a close spectroscopic binary system consisting of two massive O-type stars. This pair is the primary source of ionization for the surrounding H II region and drives away the surrounding gas and dust, simultaneously triggering star formation in its vicinity.
