Do you actually read the photo captions? :) This is the first series with the MAK, it wasn't cooled down before shooting. That's how we learn. :)

Of course I read it, that's why I'm asking. I'm generally interested in the approach to this issue. What do you use: a mask, FWHM, by eye?..

First in LiveView on the camera screen, now by FWHM in Asiair. There's a focusing mode there that displays a numerical value in arcseconds.

I focus using FWHM only on the guide camera. For the main camera, I prefer more reliable methods—using a Bahtinov mask, and I trust the accuracy assessment not to my own eyesight, but to the Bahtinov_grabber software. I recommend it!
