The Prawn Nebula (Gum 56, IC 4628) is an emission nebula in the constellation Scorpius. It is an active star-forming region.

Located 6,000 light-years from Earth, it is a vast region of space filled with gas and dark dust clouds, from which bright, hot stars are born.
