What is the practical use of this filter? What is it for?

Hello! I find the practical use for filters like the PNB586 when I need to suppress urban light pollution (I typically shoot in Moscow, which falls in the red-orange zone). Or when I'm imaging/observing the Moon against a very bright evening or morning sky—that is, to separate the Moon from the bright background. At the same time, I understand that red and IR-pass filters can solve this task much more effectively. But with filters like the PNB586, you can also achieve interesting white balance solutions directly in the camera.
