I was out wandering the nature reserve in Novy Svet again last night.
If you've never been there during the day (or even at night), it's quite tricky to get around. The trail is hard to make out in the flashlight beam. The GPS is off by a good 100 meters, easily.
In some spots, the slope, the narrowness of the path, and the drop-off are probably "a bit dangerous" even in daylight.
I made it to the "Bonsai" viewpoint,
but the Milky Way wasn't positioned as I'd hoped.
Circling it in the dark is impossible, and even during the day, it's probably just a small patch surrounded by steep slopes.
From what I consider a successful shot, "The Great Driftwood" along the way—good thing I stopped and took a few frames. As for the "Bonsai" viewpoint I was trekking to, a complete failure.
I took 6 frames for a panorama, and two of them had motion blur. I was attacked by a crazy insect—a big, noisy, frantic thing. I thought if it suddenly attacked again, I might jerk in the dark and tumble down... so I cowardly ran back home.
(P.S. Beer doesn't quench thirst well.))
